Just Jesus

Life can deal you unexpected circumstances, unfair situations, and confusing conflicts. There are many expectations and pressures that each of us face, along with fears and worries for the future. We all juggle family, friendships, jobs, finances, and schedules. Let’s face it; life can be very complicated. There is one thing in life that should always remain simple: our faith.

Christianity should be a source of peace and rest for the believer. It should never become another to-do.

Too often we tack things onto what we have to do to be saved. Gary Kinnaman is on the show today preaching the simplicity that we should find when we pursue Jesus. He says it like this, “My relationship with God is based on Jesus plus nothing.” God doesn’t have strings attached to His love. There are no requirements or rules to have a relationship with God. Jesus is enough.

Don’t complicate your salvation with legalism. You don’t have to work for your salvation. Other religions instruct ways to get to God based on what you do, however Christianity is rooted in grace. You are free to enjoy the ease and the rest that comes from knowing Jesus.

Today is my day to remove the rules and regulations that I have attached to my faith. Life can be complicated, but Jesus isn’t. His love for me is the same every single day.
